Sitting on my imaginary dock,
Of my very real bay,
How does God choose which lives,
To take today,
My soul feels good, but there's some pain,
Living to be washed by the rain,
When our people were enslaved,
We were still Queens and Kings,

Can you tell me why,
Cause I don't, I don't understand,
Just tell me why,

I just want our minds to be free,
Free from mental slavery,
Rid the fear from our hearts,
Lifting our voices is where we start,
A wondrous people is who we are,
If the killing doesn't stop, we won't get far,
Not happy with the status quo,
Every life lost is a low dealt blow,

They appropriate our style,
Our women's bodies they defile,
Got us thinking money gets us loose,
That's just another type of noose,
See, bullets have no names,
And killers seeking fame,
But I know,
We gotta keep on living,
But I know,
We gotta keep on fighting,
But I know,
We gotta keep on striving,
If we don't,
The alternative is not what we want,
What we wanna see,
And where we wanna be,
When all the killing will soon all be extinct,
We dying back to back,
Watching lives fade to black,
We gotta do better and ride the Ultralight beam,
Brothers and Sisters, we've fallen through the seams,
Next day, turn on the TV,
And it's the same damn thing,

My life matters,
